Overview
Your Aura account settings give you control over your profile, security, notifications, and data. This guide walks through each section and helps you customize your experience.
Accessing Settings
You can access your settings in two ways:
- Settings page: Click your profile icon in the top navigation, then select Settings
- Direct URL: Navigate to
app.aura-link.app/settings
The Settings page has three main tabs:
- Account: Profile info and subscription summary
- Notifications: How and when Aura contacts you
- Limits: Your current usage and plan limits
Profile Settings
Your profile settings control how you appear in Aura and include:
- Display Name: The name your Auras use when addressing you
- Profile Photo: An optional avatar shown in the interface
- Email Address: Your account email (used for login and notifications)
- Timezone: Ensures time-based rules and notifications work correctly
To update your profile:
- Go to Settings → Account
- Click the edit icon next to the field you want to change
- Enter your new information
- Click Save
Security
Keep your account secure with password management and two-factor authentication.
Changing Your Password
To change your password:
- Go to Settings → Account
- Scroll to the Security section
- Click Change Password
- Enter your current password
- Enter and confirm your new password
- Click Update Password
Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security by requiring a code from your phone when signing in.
To enable 2FA:
- Go to Settings → Account → Security
- Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.)
- Enter the 6-digit code from your app to confirm
- Save your backup codes in a secure location
Notification Preferences
Control how and when your Auras can reach you. These settings apply to all your Auras at the account level.
Quiet Hours
Quiet hours prevent notifications during specific times - perfect for sleep or focused work periods.
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Toggle Enable Quiet Hours
- Set your Start Time (e.g., 10:00 PM)
- Set your End Time (e.g., 7:00 AM)
- Click Save
Channel Preferences
Choose which notification channels are enabled for your account:
- In-App Notifications: Always available. Messages appear in the Aura app and trigger push notifications on your devices.
- Email: Receive Aura messages at your registered email address. Perfect for longer, less urgent communications.
- SMS: Get text messages to your verified phone number. Requires phone verification and may have usage limits on free plans.
- WhatsApp: Receive messages via WhatsApp. Requires linking your WhatsApp account.
To configure channels:
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Toggle each channel on or off
- For SMS, click Verify Phone and enter the code sent to your number
- For WhatsApp, click Link Account and follow the prompts
Understanding Your Limits
The Limits tab shows your current usage against your plan's allowances:
- Active Auras: How many Auras you currently have enabled vs. your maximum
- Monthly Messages: Messages sent this billing period vs. your limit
- Behavior Rules: Active rules across all Auras vs. your maximum
- Senses per Aura: Connected services per Aura vs. allowed
Usage resets at the start of each billing period (monthly). If you're approaching limits, consider upgrading your plan for higher allowances.

Expert Mode unlocks advanced features for power users:
- Advanced rule conditions with custom expressions
- Raw sense data access and debugging tools

To enable Expert Mode:
