Overview
Auras are your AI companions - each one tailored for a specific purpose or context. You might have a wellness Aura for health goals, a work Aura for productivity, and a personal Aura for daily life. This guide covers everything about managing your Auras throughout their lifecycle.
Creating a New Aura
There are two ways to create a new Aura: start from a template or build from scratch.
From a Template
Templates are pre-configured Auras designed for common use cases:
- From your dashboard, click Create New Aura
- Browse the template gallery
- Select a template that matches your needs (e.g., "Wellness Coach," "Work Assistant")
- Review the pre-configured settings
- Customize the name and any settings you want to change
- Click Create Aura
Available template categories include:
- Wellness: Fitness, nutrition, sleep, mindfulness
- Productivity: Tasks, calendar, focus, work-life balance
- Personal: Daily companion, social, hobbies
- Learning: Study habits, skill development, reading
From Scratch
Build a completely custom Aura:
- From your dashboard, click Create New Aura
- Select Start from Scratch
- You'll enter the creation wizard to configure everything step by step
The Creation Wizard
Whether starting from a template or scratch, the creation wizard guides you through:
- Basics: Name, description, and avatar for your Aura
- Personality: Traits, communication style, and voice profile
- Senses: Which data sources to connect (calendar, fitness, location, etc.)
- Rules: Behavior rules for proactive messaging
- Channels: How the Aura will notify you (in-app, email, SMS)
- Review: Confirm all settings before creation
You can skip steps and configure them later, but completing the wizard ensures your Aura is ready to go immediately.
Aura Settings
Access your Aura's settings by clicking the gear icon on the Aura card or going to the Aura's page and selecting Settings.
Basic Settings
- Name: What you call this Aura
- Description: The Aura's purpose and focus areas
- Avatar: The visual icon representing this Aura
- Color Theme: The accent color used in the interface
- Personality: Traits, voice, and communication style
Senses Configuration
Manage which data sources this Aura can access:
- Add new senses from your connected services
- Remove senses the Aura no longer needs
- Configure sense-specific settings (e.g., which calendars to include)
- View the last sync time for each sense
See the Connecting Services guide for more on available senses.
Behavior Rules
Create and manage proactive behavior rules:
- Add rules like "Every morning at 8am, share today's agenda"
- Edit existing rules to change triggers or actions
- Enable or disable individual rules
- View rule performance and trigger history
See the Building Rules guide for detailed information on rule creation.
Notification Channels
Control how this specific Aura reaches you:
- Toggle channels (in-app, email, SMS, WhatsApp) on or off
- Set a preferred channel for this Aura
- Override account-level channel settings
Pausing an Aura
Need a break from an Aura without deleting it? Pause it temporarily:
- Go to the Aura's settings
- Click Pause Aura
- Optionally set a resume date
- Confirm the pause
When paused:
- The Aura won't send any proactive messages
- Behavior rules won't trigger
- You can still chat with the Aura directly
- Senses continue syncing (so the Aura stays informed)
- The Aura doesn't count toward your limit while paused
Enabling & Disabling
You can quickly enable or disable an Aura from the dashboard:
- Enabled Auras: Fully active, can send messages and run rules
- Disabled Auras: Inactive, don't count toward limits, preserve settings
To toggle an Aura's status:
- Find the Aura on your dashboard
- Click the three-dot menu on the Aura card
- Select Enable or Disable
Disabled Auras appear dimmed on your dashboard but remain fully configured for when you want to re-enable them.
Deleting an Aura
Permanently remove an Aura you no longer need:
- Go to the Aura's settings
- Scroll to the bottom and click Delete Aura
- Type the Aura's name to confirm
- Click Permanently Delete
- Conversation history with this Aura
- Behavior rules and configurations
- Sense connections specific to this Aura
Duplicating an Aura
Create a copy of an existing Aura to use as a starting point:
- Go to the Aura's settings
- Click Duplicate Aura
- Give the copy a new name
- Review and modify any settings
- Click Create Duplicate
The duplicate includes:
- All personality settings and traits
- Behavior rules (which you can modify)
- Sense configurations
- Channel preferences
It does NOT include conversation history - the duplicate starts fresh.
Understanding Aura Limits
Your subscription plan determines how many active Auras you can have:
| Plan | Active Auras |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 |
| Personal | 3 |
| Family | 10 |
| Business | Unlimited |
Important notes about limits:
- Active means enabled - disabled and paused Auras don't count
- You can create more Auras than your limit allows, but only keep your limit active
- If you downgrade plans, you may need to disable Auras to meet the new limit
Organizing Multiple Auras
With multiple Auras, organization becomes important:
- Use descriptive names: "Morning Wellness Coach" is clearer than "Aura 2"
- Choose distinct avatars: Visual differentiation helps you quickly identify which Aura is messaging
- Separate by context: Keep work and personal Auras focused on their domains
- Avoid overlap: If two Auras track the same things, you'll get duplicate messages
Your dashboard displays Auras in order of most recent interaction. You can also pin your most important Auras to the top.
Best Practices
- Start with one Aura: Get comfortable with how Auras work before creating multiple
- Define clear purposes: Each Aura should have a distinct role
- Review regularly: Check if your Auras are still serving you well. Disable or delete unused ones
- Balance proactivity: Too many rules across multiple Auras can become overwhelming
- Use channels wisely: Route urgent Auras to SMS, informational ones to email
- Iterate on personality: Adjust traits and communication style based on how interactions feel
- Leverage templates: Start from templates to save time, then customize
